This module is bolt on to any MIAS level 2/3 or equivalent award.
Candidates most hold a currentnrelevant First Aid Certificate and have a minimum of 6 Off Road Night rides of 2 Hrs or more logged in their log book.
Candidates will be expected ta attend the course adequatley prepared to lead a Night Ride. Lights will not be proveded but advice can be givenon choice of lights to be used.
Please bring your log book and a copy of your First Aid Certifiacte.
Length of course:The course will consist of an 8 Hr training Course half based as a refresher in the classroom and half the course out & about on the trail in darkness.
Course content:
The course will be based around the needs of the group and any refresher training required. during the course the candidates will be required to:
- Plan a suitable route, which they will peer guide.
- Manage the group
- Deal with Trail side maintenace
- Emergency planning
- Night Navigation
- Clothing and equipment
- Bike and light Preperation
You will be assessed during the two days by means of practical, question/answers and a written exam.
